Mill Road is loved by residents and visitors alike for its rich history and vibrant offering. Independent boutiques, international shops and diverse community groups all work together to form an inclusive and exciting neighbourhood that buzzes with activity. A mile long stretch of independent cafes, quirky shops and mouth-watering eateries – Mill Road is one of Cambridge’s most vibrant destinations. Just a short walk from the city centre, Mill Road offers an exciting alternative side of the city.

Whether you want a charity shop bargain, a delicious meal or to grab a pint in a great nearby pub, the area offers something for everyone. The sheer range of food on offer along Mill Road is its prime attraction. You will find anything from a North African menu to burgers and fine dining, or perhaps succulent sushi treats.

Nothing beats relaxing in a cosy Mill Road café – and there are plenty to choose from. Grab a cup of the strong stuff at Tom’s Cakes while enjoying a scrumptious slice of cake, watch the world go by sitting outside the Black Cat Cafe, or join the crowd for a flat white at nearby Urban Larder. Hot Number is also not to be missed!

Grab a drink

Tucked away down the far end of Hooper Street, a five minute walk from Mill Road, is the Calverley’s Brewery, a family run place serving top quality pints.
Just up the road from Calverley’s is the charming Petersfield, or why not try the Kingston Arms Kingston or Live & Let Live for a totally different vibe.
